Sometimes events in your life can work in a similar vein. I can not even begin to tell you how I started reading half of the blogs that I do. One link led to another link that led to another is usually how it goes.
One such blog is that of Chris and Allie Bartelski of "the reason". One day I found myself on their blog viewing this post and I was in love so I commented on it to tell them so. To my surprise, I got a response from Allie that same day thanking me for checking them out.
Due to the amazingness of their photography that I admired, the inevitable internet stalking began, and I became Facebook friends with Allie as well. Then she let me know about this group they started on Facebook for the express purpose of local area photographers meeting up and talking and networking and all that good stuff. Awesome, awesome, awesome. I love meeting new photographers and picking their brains, as morbid as that expression is.
Sooooo, long story short, we had one such meeting this Tuesday up in Atlanta and it was arranged not only to meet new photographers but to have a kick butt "trash the dress" shoot. Needless to say it was {{say it with me now}} AWESOME!
Despite the freezing temperatures, the models were real troopers and we all had a blast. I haven't had the chance to work on too many but I wanted to get a few up kind of as a preview so I picked several.
This first picture is not really what I would consider my style as much but it stood out to me and I had to add it in the preview. I think it's Angela's piercing gaze.
Photographing Michelle made me realize all over again that I wish I had red hair and freckles. {{sigh}}I have to say that this is definitely one of my favorites.
The lens flare was not always my friend on this photo shoot but in this case, I think I just might forgive it.
I really am endeavoring to get better about blogging so look out for some more posts coming soon. Until then. . .
