Sneak Peakamus Maximus

So. . .last week I ended the week falling into a fireplace, bruising my head by banging my camera getup against my forehead and my feet were eaten alive by fire ants. Just another day in the life of a clutz. I’ll work on elaborating more on the fireplace story later. :D

I have been a busy girl this past week as I have had more photo jobs in this time than I have had in a very long time. And it has been gooooood.

So here are a few sneak peaks.

First up: BellaBee. My amazing talented friend Wendy creates all kinds of domestic goodies in her Etsy shop. Do me a favor, and check her out.BellaBee-0711Then on Saturday, I had the great privilege and pleasure of photographing an incredibly lovely wedding.

GreenHayes-4514Then the next morning, Spencer and I woke up to photograph a large family that I had not photographed since before Spencer and I had started dating.

BruceFamily-5116 Then my cousin Matthew and his girlfriend Megan were sweet enough to allow me to experiment on them. ;)

So, all in all, it has been a BUSY week and I will have more goodies on here in the near future.

You'll never know...

I am not strong. I have never claimed to be strong.

This is day 3 of the Ultra Simple Diet and I am struggling with cravings...and mood swings. At one point yesterday I felt oddly empowered and felt thinner and by the time the night was over I was in bed in a pile of frustration at everything.

Today especially I am having trouble with cravings. I want a big juicy turkeyburger from the place right across the street from my office. My husband is trying to keep me strong via text messaging (misspelling included):

Me: I want food.

Me: I don't think I can do this.

Spencer: You can do it. (trying hard not to visual Rob Schneider from "Waterboy")

Really can't all ican think abt is food

Lunch is soon you can do i know you can

But i don't want veggies (wow you can hear the whine in my voice)

Sorry you have to or you will never be happy

What if it doesn't wnrk? Suffering for nothing

You'll never know

I really love him..he comes through for me in a big way sometimes.
I am posting a beautiful picture today to endeavor to evoke the calm feelings I need to have.

Beginnings of Life

So I got this really inexpensive macro/fisheye lens for my Canon D30 about a month ago and have been so busy that I have not been able to test it out. Poor lens has been sitting neglected in my camera bag. Well…when is the best time to test out a macro lens?!?! SPRINGTIME!!! My mother-in-law is a flower enthusiast so she has many beautiful flowers and flowering trees in her yard. PERFECT for me to experiment on.
IRISES!!! So intricate and SO beautiful. The detail is amazing. You can even see the pollen.

Tulips are one of my favorite flowers. They are so much less showy & ostentacious than roses yet they are just as beautiful in their slender simplicity. It is the smooth lines and the simplicity I think that make them so beautiful

I actually loved being able to get to many of the flowers before full bloom. I think it is amazing how a tree can look dead but, as you get closer, you see these amazing little green shoots and leaves beginning to slowly find their way out of the limbs showing that, despite appearances, life has been lying dormant inside for so long...just waiting. What a wonderful illustration to the fact that Jehovah has us always alive in his memory, even when we die, so that he can resurrect us in paradise as we always were, just without sin and imperfection.
